Private CardioSTAT® – Extended Cardiac Monitoring
The CardioSTAT® is a portable cardiac monitor that records the heart’s electrical activity continuously over several days. This test is used to detect certain heart rhythm disorders that may be difficult to capture with a standard ECG or a 24-hour Holter monitor.
Why have a CardioSTAT® test?
Your doctor may recommend this test to evaluate certain symptoms or conditions, such as:
- Heart palpitations
- Dizziness or unexplained discomfort
- Suspected atrial fibrillation
- Episodes of syncope (fainting)
- Monitoring of a known heart rhythm disorder
- Evaluation following a stroke or cardiac event
Continuous monitoring over several days increases the chances of detecting heart rhythm abnormalities that may not appear during a short ECG performed in a clinic.
How does the CardioSTAT® test work?
The CardioSTAT® test is completed in a few simple steps:
- Device installation
The monitor is placed on your chest in the clinic or at home. - Continuous recording
