Dr. Justin Rayes

Cardiologist — Specialist in cardiovascular disease


Dr. Justin Rayes is a cardiologist certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, with a strong background in both clinical care and academic medicine. He earned his medical degree from McGill University in 2014, followed by residency training in internal medicine at McGill (2017) and a cardiology fellowship at the Université de Montréal, completed in 2020. 

Dr. Rayes currently practices at the Centre Hospitalier De Lanaudière (CHDL) in Joliette, where he also serves as the coordinating physician for inpatient care. His practice focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based treatment for a wide range of cardiac conditions.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Rayes is actively involved in medical education and research. He supervises medical trainees from Université Laval and contributes to ongoing clinical studies in cardiovascular medicine, helping to advance the field. He is a frequent speaker and mentor, recognized for his dedication to both patients and future healthcare professionals.

Clinical Experience

  • Creation and full management of the clinic: organizational structure, medical services, equipment selection, and staff recruitment
  • Specialized consultations (coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, etc.)
  • Performance of diagnostic examinations: electrocardiograms, stress tests, cardiac echocardiography, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)
  • Follow-up and programming of cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs, CRT)

Martine Roy

Medical Electrophysiology Technologist


Martine Roy is a highly experienced medical technologist specializing in cardiac diagnostics. She graduated from Collège Ahuntsic in 2005 and has since worked extensively in hospital cardiology departments, performing a wide range of non-invasive tests, including: 
• Electrocardiograms (ECGs) 
• Treadmill stress tests 
• Holter and event monitoring 
• Cardiac ultrasounds (echocardiograms) 
• Pacemaker follow-up and programming 

With nearly 20 years of experience at CHDL, Martine brings deep expertise in cardiovascular diagnostics and a strong commitment to patient care. She joined Dr. Rayes to help create a more personalized and accessible clinic environment, where patients benefit from both her technical skills and her compassionate approach.
