Quick Resting ECG

An electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of your heart over a few seconds. It is a basic, fast, and painless test used for screening and the initial evaluation of many symptoms.

Why have an ECG?

Health check-ups, chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, monitoring of a treatment or heart condition, or preparation for surgery.

How the test works

While lying on an examination table, electrodes are placed on your chest, arms, and legs. The recording takes only a few seconds and no special preparation is required.

Results

The recording is interpreted by a cardiologist. A report is sent promptly to your healthcare provider, generally within 24–48 business hours.
