Treadmill Stress Test
Safe and supervised care
A treadmill stress test evaluates how your heart responds to physical exercise. It is used to investigate symptoms during exertion, assess your tolerance to physical activity, and help guide medical management. The test is performed under supervision and according to established safety protocols.
Common indications
- Chest pain or shortness of breath during exercise
- Evaluation before returning to sports or physical activity
- Follow-up for certain heart conditions
How the test works
After a baseline ECG, you begin walking on a treadmill and gradually increase speed and intensity following a standardized protocol. Your heart rate, blood pressure, and symptoms are continuously monitored. The total time at the clinic is approximately 60 minutes.
Preparation
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for exercise
- Avoid large meals and caffeine before the test
- Follow your doctor’s instructions regarding medications (for example beta-blockers)
Results and follow-up
The results are interpreted by a cardiologist. A report is sent to your healthcare provider within approximately 48–72 business hours, along with recommendations if needed.
