Private Holter Monitor – 24–48 Hour Heart Rhythm Recording

A Holter monitor continuously records your heart rhythm for 24 to 48 hours (or longer if needed). It helps detect temporary abnormalities that may not appear on a resting ECG. The device is quick to install, easy to wear, and the recording is analyzed by a cardiologist.

Why is a Holter monitor used?

Your physician may prescribe a Holter monitor if you experience palpitations, dizziness, fainting (syncope), atypical chest pain, or to monitor known heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). The test documents heart rate, rhythm regularity, and abnormal episodes.

How the test works

Small adhesive electrodes are placed on your chest and connected to a compact recorder worn at the waist. You continue your normal daily activities while noting symptoms and activities in a diary. When you return the device, the data is analyzed.

Tips while wearing a Holter monitor

  • Keep the device dry; avoid showering
  • Do not remove the electrodes. If one comes loose, reattach it and notify us
  • Keep your diary up to date (symptoms, activity, sleep)

Results and timeline

The recording is interpreted by a cardiologist. A report is sent to your healthcare provider within approximately 5 business days. Appropriate follow-up can then be recommended.
